Improving Plasma Activation Efficiency
We are pleased to share that our CTO has contributed to a new scientific paper developed in cooperation with CNR ITAE and TECNALIA Membrane Technology within the framework of the AMBHER project.
The publication focuses on the development of advanced 3D-printed structured membrane reactors for ammonia synthesis, combining innovative reactor design with catalytic and membrane technologies. In this work, POCs catalysts and carbon membranes were integrated into a structured membrane reactor, demonstrating a promising approach for process intensification and more sustainable chemical production.
A key part of the research was carried out at TU/e by PhD student Iolanda Gargiulo, who worked on the integration of the catalytic structures and carbon membrane technology within the membrane reactor concept. Her contribution was central to advancing the experimental development and demonstrating the potential of these structured systems for ammonia synthesis.
This work highlights the importance of collaboration between research institutes, technology partners, and industry in developing next-generation reactor technologies that can contribute to cleaner and more efficient chemical processes.
Congratulations to Iolanda Gargiulo and to all the partners and researchers involved in this excellent achievement.
